We have improved our school grade to a “B”! Thank you for your hard work and focus throughout the 2018-2019 school year! THANK YOU, parents and families, for all your support, so we could focus on learning!! Thank you for getting your children to school on time and not checking them out early so we could move our school!! Thank you for the donuts, bagels and the extras you provided for our staff to keep them energized throughout the school year!! Every child counts! We also want to thank our community for its constant support of CPE!! We have an amazing and supportive village!
Welcome Mrs. Wiggins – CPE’s new Assistant Principal
Please take a moment to welcome Mrs. Wiggins our new Assistant Principal for the 2019-2020 school year.
She was born and raised in Bartow. Mrs. Wiggins is a product of the Polk County Public School system. She graduated from Bartow High School, and completed her post graduate studies at Florida Southern College and Nova Southeastern University.
After completing her graduate work, she began her teaching career in 3rd grade. She went on to teach 6th grade math before becoming a Math coach and STEM Lead teacher. For the last three years, she has served as the Assistant Principal at Kathleen Elementary.
Education has always been important to her, and she works to instill a love of learning in all of the children she works with.

Online Volunteer Applications Set to Go Live Jan. 7
Polk County Public Schools is transitioning to a new volunteer system and will no longer accept paper volunteer applications after this Friday, Dec. 21. The new online application system is scheduled to go live on Monday, Jan. 7 at polkschoolsfl.com/getinvolved.
For security purposes, the new volunteer system will screen applicants with a national criminal background check, as well as a FDLE (Florida Department of Law Enforcement) background check. Approved volunteers must reapply and renew their application/background screen every five years from the date of approval. Volunteers can check their status by contacting their school, or by calling 863-457-4708 and pressing 2.
The volunteer application fee will remain at $25 at least through the end of the 2018-19 school year (June 30, 2019). At this time, Polk County Public Schools is covering the cost of the additional background check.
